Summary edit

Description
English: Riftia pachyptila is a tube worm found at hydrothermal vents in the deep sea. Their blood-red "plumes" function as gills for gas exchange with the surrounding water. The animal uses this to support symbiotic bacteria that live inside them and that also are their primary food source.
