Premio Platino categoría de Cine y Educación en Valores Humanos.La premio nobel de la Paz de 1992, la guatemalteca Rigoberta Menchú, y el equipo de la película Ixcanul, de ese nacionalidad, dieron protagonismo al país centroamericano en el inicio de la alfombra roja de la III gala de los Premios Platino, que se celebra hoy en Punta del Este.

"...la nobel comentó que ella no es una habitual de espacios de este tipo pero que se alegra mucho de que "la educación, el respeto, los valores, las identidades... sean parte del cine".
