English: Ripple Beds , Wren's Nest National Nature Reserve The Wren's Nest National Nature Reserve was established in 1956 to protect geology exposed by limestone quarrying. It was the first geological nature reserve and is also a SSSI. The Silurian Limestone ridge was formed 420 million years ago as shallow seas around the equator. This rock face shows ripples on the beach. |
