| Description |
English: River Amble Dam. The green bank at the centre of the photograph is an earth dam across the mouth of the River Amble Valley where it joins the Camel Estuary. This protects the river valley from flooding by salt water and may have originally been built to help land reclamation on the valley floor but now protects the Walmsley Sanctuary freshwater wetland nature reserve from inundation by salt water. |
