English: River Stour near Fortis Ford The old Fortis Ford once crossed the river where the tall block of white Willows appear. The gravel bank in the foreground is covered with fresh water mussels, much loved by some birds who manage to open the shell and eat the contents, scattering empty shells onto the fields. River banks here are trampled by cattle, for which the river is their only source of water. |
