Description
English: River Teign: Fingle Mill Head Weir This weir is about 300 metres upstream of Fingle Bridge, and was built to pond up water for a leat to supply Fingle Mill which was about 200 metres downstream of the bridge. The leat would have taken water off from the river on the left side of the photograph. This corn mill burnt down in 1894 and was never rebuilt, leaving the leat to eventually silt up.
