Summary
editDescriptionRoadworks at closed SH59, removing slip north of Pukerua Bay.jpg |
Roadworks at the closed State Highway 59 north of Pukerua Bay to remove a slip-prone hillside. Following severe weather events in August[1], the road was closed on 19 August 2022 for four weeks, the third closure within a year.[2] [3] [4] A digger is removing soil from the top of the hillside and dumping it down the slope, where a second digger loads it into a small truck to be carried away along the coastal highway. |
