Description
English: Rock Creek Canyon in Montana's Beartooth Mountains was eroded by alpine glaciers during the Pleistocene Ice Age. The mountains themselves are principally composed of Archean-aged metamorphic rocks.

The scar on the other side of the valley is Hellroaring Road - it leads up to the Hellroaring Plateau, the site of several old mines in the Red Lodge Chromite District.

Locality: Rock Creek Canyon, view from Route 212 (= Beartooth Highway), Beartooth Mountains, southern Montana, USA
