rock spiraea, Petrophytum caespitosum subsp. caespitosum, Cave Hill, Crooked Creek, White Mountains, Inyo National Forest, elevation 3040 m (9975 ft). Always love to find this one in flower. In dry years it is just a green mat on carbonate rock outcrops in this area. A matted subshrub really -- very woody under the leaves. |
