While on the way home we stopped by the Delaware River Railroad Excursions in Phillipsburg, New Jersey for a lovely scenic train ride along the river.

Summary

edit
Description
English: Black River Railroad System (BDRV) Electro-Motive Division SW1500 #1596 was originally built for Penn Central during February 1972 and numbered #9524. In 1976, #9524 was conveyed to Conrail, but kept its PC number. In 1999, as a result of the CR split, #9524 was conveyed to Norfolk Southern and renumbered #2210. By 2012, Progress Rail (PRLX) had gained ownership of #2210, and in 2015, Black River Railroad System purchased the unit, remembering it to #1596. The SW is currently assigned to the Belvidere & Delaware River Railway out of Phillipsburg, New Jersey.
