| Description |
Nederlands: Boerderij op de plek van het voormalige veerhuis van Roodehaan. Het veerhuis werd voor het eerst genoemd in 1559. De bekendste eigenaar was Jan van Julsing(h)a (rond 1800), de latere burgemeester van Wehe-den Hoorn. In 1825 bezweek het veerhuis na een storm en werd herbouwd. Jarenlang was er tevens een café in gevestigd. Het gebouw had toen een veranda aan voorzijde. Op een prentbriefkaart uit 1906 staat 'Bondshotel Roodehaan' op de gevel. In 1906 werd het veer ook opgeheven. In 1921 sloot het café. Later werd het gebouw omgevormd tot waterschapshuis van het waterschap Reitdiep en nog later werd het een boerderij. De veranda is later vervangen door een serre. Het woord 'Roodehaan' stond in de jaren 1970 boven de deur van de schuur. |
