Description
Deutsch: Die Rote Waldameise (formica rufa) ernährt sich unter anderem von toten Insekten. Hier sieht man wie eine tote Hummel Richtung Nest bewegt wird. Beachte zum Ende des Films, wie eine der kleinen Ameisen die gesamte Hummel hin und her rüttelt.

Für eine Hummel spricht der andeutungsweise erkennbare weiße Hinterleib. Eine Verwechslung mit zum Beispiel der Hummel-Waldschwebfliege ist aber möglich.

Der kurze Film entstand am 17. Juli 2023 in der Heidelandschaft westlich des Ortes auf der Nordseeinsel Wangerooge.

Ein Film derselben Ameisenstraße aus dem Jahr 2024 schätzt die durschnittliche Marschgeschwindigkeit der Tierchen auf fast 2 cm/s ab.
