Dr. W. Roth (19.6.1833-12.6.1892) erreichte in der Kranken- Sanitär- und Gesundheitspflege große Verdienste. Gemeinsam mit der sächs. Königin Carola forcierten sie die militärärztliche Ausbildung nach modernen Grundlagen und gründeten später die „Militärärztliche Gesellschaft zu Dresden“. Für Europa beispielgebend verwirklichte Dr. W. A. Roth die militärhygienischen und militärmedizinischen Prinzipien auch im zivilen Bereich.
