English: Rotting railway sleepers, Swelltor branch line. Rotting sleepers on the Swelltor branch line. The line ran off the Princetown railway to serve Swelltor Quarry. These are some of the last "non-granite" remains of the trackway. If you look closely, you can see some of the bolts that secured the fishplates. The track was lifted in 1957 after 73 years of service |
