Summary

edit
Description
English: Roxboro Island was purchased in 1974 by the city of Roxboro (Mayor William G. Boll) and had fill material placed on it in an attempt to prevent spring flooding and level it out into a park. The Québec provincial government was upset by this change to the natural shoreline and halted the project. Today in 2013 section of landfill can still be seen, but most of the island is covered in vegetation.
