To the Glory of God and in memory of the under named Non-Commissioned Officers and Men of the 3rd Battalion, Royal Garrison Regiment who died at Malta during the time the battalion was quartered at Mtarfa (Imtarfa) in the island. September 1901 to April 1904
GALLAGHER, Charles. Sergeant 2789, died 4th October 1902. He was born at Shorncliffe, occupation, clerk and he enlisted at Gunner 2263 on the 2nd July 1901. He was the husband of Ada. At rest in Plot 4 Row 2 Grave 5 in Imtarfa Military Cemetery, Malta.
BARRETT, James. Sergeant 226, died 21st January 1903. He was born at New Ross, Welford occupation, Stevedore and enlisted on the 7th March 1901. He was the husband of Margaret. No burial location can be found
JACKSON, Albert Henry. Sergeant 1923, died 3rd October 1903 (UK, Army Registers of Soldiers' Effects, 1901-1929) have the following. Sergeant, Arthur Henry Jackson. Born at Romford, occupation, clerk and enlisted on the 1st May 1901. He was the brother of Francis J, George, Charles, sister Ellen, Rose and Emily No burial location can be found
McMAHON, Hugh. Corporal 755 died 12th May 1902. He was born in Liverpool and was a labourer. He enlisted on the 28th March 1901 and he was the husband of Mary Katherine nee Howard. No burial location can be found
MARFLEET, George William. Corporal 2620, died 11th January 1904. He was born in Liverpool, occupation seaman and he enlisted on the 19th June 1901. He was the brother of William, Elizabeth, Sarah J and Mary J. At rest in Plot 4 Row 3 Grave 1 in Imtarfa Military Cemetery, Malta.
O'SHEA, Christopher. Lance Corporal 3037, died 30th October 1902. He was born at Chatham and was by occupation a tailor. He enlisted on the 25th July 1901 and was the husband of Mary Jane. No burial location can be found
ATHERLEY, Arthur Edward. Lance Corporal 7239, died 18th October 1903 aged 33 at Imtarfa. He was born in Belfast and was by occupation a musician. He enlisted on the 5th June 1903 and he was the brother of Cecil Arthur. He buried in Plot 1 Row 2 Grave 11 on the 19th October 1903 in Imtarfa Military Cemetery, Malta
GRAY, (Grey) John. Private 2467, died 8th October 1901. He was born at Bishops Auckland and was by occupation a labourer. He enlisted on the 5th June 1901 and was the husband of Annie and the brother of Edward who was his next of kin. No burial location can be found
PETERS, George. Private 828, died 23rd February 1902. He was born at Brighton and was by occupation a painter. He enlisted on the 27th March 1901 husband of Harriett. No burial location can be found
SEYMOUR, Matthew. Private 3034, died 13th February 1903. He was born in London and was by occupation a labourer. He enlisted on the 26th July 1901 and was the husband of Emily. No burial location can be found
GAMMAGE, Thomas. Private 2322, Born 1867 and died 2nd April 1903 in Valletta. He was born in London and was by occupation a labourer. He enlisted on the 29th May 1901 his father, Thomas was his next of kin granted a gratuity on the 4th June 1903. No burial location can be found
MORIARTY, Lawrence. Private 3189, died 24th June 1903. He was born in Limerick, Ireland to John and Kate who in 1901 were living as a family at 7, Coolnamohoge, Kilglass, County Limerick. He was working as a farm labourer for his father. He enlisted on the 30th July 1901 and he was the husband of Bridget who was his next of kin. No burial location can be found
FAY, Henry Charles. Private 6184, died 2nd October 1903 aged 39 at Gozo and was interred in Gozo Cemetery. He was born at Hanging (Hanging Langford) Wiltshire and he was by occupation a labourer. He enlisted on the 19th November 1902 and his brother Edmund and sister Elizabeth A .M., was his next of kin. No burial location can be found
EVANS, Alfred Edward. Private 6366, died 13th November 1903 aged 36 at Verdala, Malta. He was interred at Rinella Military Cemetery. In 1978 his and other remains were transferred to Kalkara Naval Cemetery into a Mass Grave. He was born at Maidstone, Kent and was by occupation a clerk. He enlisted on the 13th December 1902 and he brother, Alex was his next of kin. His sibling were called, Alex, Oliver, Frederick, Fanny, Charlotte.
TAYLOR, John Henry. Private 7072, died 23rd November 1903 aged 34 and 6 months. He was born at Folkestone and was by occupation a labourer. He enlisted on the 17th April 1903, his wife Edith was his next of kin. At rest in Imtarfa Military Cemetery, Malta. At rest Plot 4 Row 2 Grave 12 in Imtarfa Military Cemetery, Malta.
ASTON, Charles. Private 6997, died 17th April 1904 aged32. He was born at Croydon, London and was by occupation an hair dresser. He enlisted on the 23rd March 1904 his father John, was his next of kin. At rest in Imtarfa Military Cemetery, Malta.
