| Description | Rugged sedimentary rocks on the way to the remote Lahic village near Ismailli, Azerbaijan. The road is unsealed and pretty rough and ready most of the way but we were told it is purposely kept that way so that tourists can get an idea of the remoteness of the terrain. There are buses which run from Ismailli and Baku to Lahic nowadays and the village has become rather touristy, with a steady influx of tourists, but the terrain still remains rather remote, despite easy access. (Sheki, Azerbaijan, Sept. 2017) |
