Summary
editDescriptionRuined church of St John the Baptist - geograph.org.uk - 876817.jpg |
English: Ruined church of St John the Baptist, near to Llanwarne, Herefordshire, Great Britain.
Abandoned in 1864 due to constant flooding from the nearby Gamber Brook, the roofless church is now in a fairly dangerous condition. This view shows the porch, south aisle and tower (with columbarium), as well as the remains of the 14th century churchyard cross. Across the road, and built on higher ground, is Christ Church where some artefacts from St John the Baptist's, including an ancient font, have been re-housed. |
