Description
English: Runnels near Brass Point A runnel is a gully formed in the chalk bedrock on a wave-cut platform. Like mini canyons some can be waist high whilst others barely cover the sole of your shoe. They generally travel north-south between the cliff and sea though others can run at different angles. They are usually filled with water as they allow either the tide to run in up them or water to percolate out from the point where the chalk meets non-porous layers.
