| Description |
English: Ryskivatn is a lake in the island Suðuroy in the Faroe Islands. It is located up in the mountains north-west of Vágur. The water from this lake and some other lakes which are further up in the mountains deliver water to the hydro power plant in Botni, which was the first electric power plant of the Faroe Islands and the second hydro-electric power plant in the Danish Kingdom. It was ready to use in 1921. Føroyskt: Ryskivatn er eitt vatn í Suðuroynni, tað liggur í ein útnyrðing úr Vági, norðan fyri Botn, har Føroya fyrsta elektrisitetsverk liggur. Verkið framleiðir el-orku úr orkuni ið kemur frá vatninum úr Ryskivatni og úr øðrum vøtnum, ið liggur hægri uppi enn Ryskivatn. Vatnið rennur við nógvari ferð gjøgnum tjúkk rør oman í Botn, har turbinur framleiða elorku úr vatninum. |
