Il est né à Haïti, décédé le 25 mars 1867 à Paris 8e, (vue 4/31, acte n° 489). Il est le fils du général Jean-Baptiste Delva et de Marie-Louise Eunomine Daran. Il épouse en 1ère noce Louise-Émilie-Émelina Morisset, (-1849), fille du général Alexandre Morisset et de Lise Thébaud, le 9 septembre 1833 à Port au Prince. En 2e noce il épouse Marie-Madeleine-Laure Vernard le 23 février 1854 à Port-au-Prince.
