Description
Português: A Síndrome de Guillain-Barré é uma doença rara desencadeada por um processo infeccioso anterior. Várias infecções têm sido associadas à Guillain-Barré, sendo a infecção por Campylobacter, que causa diarreia, a mais comum.

Outras infecções que podem desencadear essa doença são: Citomegalovírus, Zika, Dengue, Chikungunya, Influenza A, Sarampo, Hepatites A, B, C, HIV e outras.

Os sintomas principais são: fraqueza muscular nas extremidades distais dos membros inferiores e, em seguida, superiores. Geralmente ocorrendo na seguinte ordem: membros inferiores, braços, tronco, cabeça e pescoço.

A síndrome pode apresentar diferentes graus de agressividade, provocando leve fraqueza muscular em alguns pacientes ou casos de paralisia total dos quatro membros. O principal risco dessa doença é paralisia da musculatura respiratória acessória.
