English: Samuel Kamakau (October 29, 1815 – September 5, 1876) was a Hawaiian historian and scholar. He wrote a series of newspaper articles from 1866 to 1871 that are generally regarded as the most detailed history of Hawaii during that period. he also served in a number of government positions, such as Judge and legislator.
