The original finding aid described this as: Description: Overall views of payload bay (PLB) with PLB doors open (fixed radiator panels visible) documented from the aft flight deck viewing windows (looking aft). In the foreground is the Office of Space Science (OSS)-1 unpressurized u-shaped Spacelab (SL) pallet with Vehicle Charging and Potential (VCAP) Experiment, Induced Atmosphere Experiment, Solar Ultraviolet Spectral Irradiance Monitor (SUSIM), and Solar Flare X-Ray Polarimeter Experiment (on starboard side); Plasma Diagnostics Package (PDP), PDP Antenna, and Contamination Monitor Package (CMP) (on port side); and Thermal Canister Experiment (TCE) (in center, above other experiments). Remote Manipulator System (RMS) arm is stowed on port side longeron. In the background, the vertical tail and orbital maneuvering system (OMS) pods appear against the darkness of space.
