The original finding aid described this as: Description: Payload bay (PLB) door opening / closing procedures taken from aft viewing windows looking aft show left door closed. Remote manipulator system (RMS) arm stowed on port side longeron and Office of Space Science (OSS) 1 unpressurized u-shaped Spacelab (SL) pallet with Vehicle Charging and Potential (VCAP) Experiment, Induced Atmosphere Experiment, Solar Ultraviolet Spectral Irradiance Monitor (SUSIM), and Solar Flare X-Ray Polarimeter Experiment (on starboard side); Plasma Diagnostics Package (PDP), PDP Antenna, and Contamination Monitor Package (CMP) (on the port side); and Thermal Canister Experiment (TCE) (in center, above other experiments) also appear in views. As doors open and close, orbital maneuvering system (OMS) pods are seen in the background.
