Description

He was reared in the States at 16 Catherine St., New York, deported in 1933 to Italy because his father was not a citizen and the family was on relief. He was in the Italian Army for 5 years, having fought in Spain, Albania, Africa, Abyssinia and Tunisia, telling his company that any man who fired a shot would have to deal with him. He lead his unit to the Americans of the 9th Division. They're all glad it's over for them. Bonanno's father and two brothers live in Willimantic, Conn., and he says they are probably in the American Army. 1 May, 1943.
