Description
Deutsch: In der Rendsburger Carlshütte wurde im März 1844 erstmalig ein solches gusseisernes Wappen hergestellt. Die Hände betonen, was das Motto aussagt: „Wy lawen dat Schleswigk u[nde] Holsten blieven ewich tosamende ungedelt 1460.“ Damit wird der Ripener Schwur (Up ewig ungedeelt) von Christian I. (Dänemark, Norwegen und Schweden) wieder aufgegriffen. Als Hausschmuck konnte das Wappen aber erst poulär werden, nachdem Schleswig-Holstein preußisch geworden war. Besonders 1898 zum 50. Jahrestag der Schleswig-Holsteinischen Erhebung wurden solche gusseiserne Wappen aus der Carlshütte aufgehängt. Sie bezeugten die schleswig-holsteinische Identität und Tradition. Das quadrierte Wappen besteht aus vier Einzelwappen (Schleswig, Holstein, Dithmarschen und Stormarn). Im Herzschild ein „gespaltenes Wappen“: Der rote Balken auf goldenem Grund steht für die Grafschaft Oldenburg, das goldene Kreuz auf blauem Grund für die Grafschaft Delmenhorst – ein Verweis auf die Herkunft des ehemaligen Landesherrn.
