Description
Deutsch: Savoia-Marchetti SM.73 (RD + CU, Takt. Kennzeichen Z5U) der Savoia-Staffel der dt. Luftwaffe, auf Landeplatz eingesunken; rechts eine Hanomag Zugmaschine der Luftwaffe. Foto vermutlich in Italien, oder auf einem Flugfeld in Deutschland, 1942/43. Die 1933 als Verkehrsflugzeug konzipierte SM.73 wurde von der dt. Luftwaffe i. d. R. als Verbindungs- und Kurierflugzeug zwischen Italien und Deutschland, sowie Italien und Nord-Afrika eingesetzt. Die Savoia-Staffel nutzte insgesamt 3 Maschinen dieses Typs bis ca. Mitte 1943, die Kennzeichen waren:
  1. 1Z + QD vermutl. mit dem takt. Kennzeichen "Z5Q" auf dem Seitenruder;
  2. RD + CU mit dem takt. Kennzeichen "Z5U" auf dem Seitenruder (fotographisch belegt);
  3. RD + CW mit takt. Kennzeichen "Z5W" auf dem Seitenruder (fotographisch belegt).
Das Standardtransportflugzeug der (periodisch) selbständigen Transportfliegerstaffel war der schwere Truppen- u. Materialtransporter SM.82, ebenfalls aus der Produktion des italienischen Herstellers Savoia-Marchetti.
