Description

En este panteón está enterrada Amalia de Llano y Dotres, la famosa Condesa de Vilches del bellísimo retrato de Federico de Madrazo. También está enterrada su madre (casada en segundas nupcias con Francisco Falcó y Valcárcel, IX marqués de Almonacid de los Oteros), y otras personas

En la actualidad, el panteón es quizá más conocido porque frente a él figura la pequeña sepultura de su nieto Gonzalo Lilburg Vilches, fallecido en 1879 a los dos años de edad, donde la gente suele colocar juguetes y flores.

Gonzalo era hijo de María Pilar Vilches y Llano, casada con Santiago Lilburg y Goldridg.

Madre e hija, Amalia y Pilar, representaban con frecuencia obras teatrales (Amalia era una mujer de inquietudes culturales, llegó a escribir dos novelas), una de cuyas representaciones hubo de suspenderse por el repentino fallecimiento de Gonzalo. Madre e hija se retiraron una temporada a "La Cervanta" (hemerotecadigital.bne.es/issue.vm?id=0004787622&page=6 y hemerotecadigital.bne.es/issue.vm?id=0000281867&page=4)

El panteón, de 1870, es obra del arquitecto Wenceslao Gaviña Baquero.
