Description

Cristóbal Oudrid Segura (1825-1877) fue un famoso y prolífico músico, pianista, compositor y mordaz crítico. Posiblemente su obra más conocida sea "El sitio de Zaragoza", pero la composición por la que hoy se le recuerda, incluso por quienes no saben su nombre, es la Salve Marinera, que forma parte de "El molinero de Subiza", zarzuela considerada por los expertos como su obra cumbre.

Las cenizas del músico fueron trasladadas a la sacramental de San Isidro en 1886, al monumento erigido por su viuda. Informa "El pabellón nacional" (hemerotecadigital.bne.es/issue.vm?id=0026610853&page=3) que "el nuevo sepelio se verificó en un pequeño panteón de marmol blanco, formado por bloques de aspecto rústico y en cada uno de los cuales se ha inscrito el título de una de las obras musicales de Oudrid. Sobre la lápida, que es lisa y en que se lee la inscripción "Oudrid. Su desconsolada viuda" se alza sobre un pequeño pedestal el busto del que fue aplaudido compositor, rodeado por una corona formando medallón. Esta escultura fue ejecutado en Milán, por encargo del eminente tenor Stagno, que profesaba a Oudrid entrañable cariño"
