Description
English: The car ferry SS Estrada Palma at anchor in Hampton Roads, Virginia (USA), in 1942. She was built at Philadelphia in 1920, and was owned by the Florida East Coast Car Ferry Company. Note that her name and call sign ("KDMG") are printed in yellow atop her superstructure.
She was acquired by the United States Navy on 15 June 1942, converted to a minelayer, and renamed USS Weehawken (CM-12).
