Summary edit

Description The sweetly fragrant trumpet-shaped flowers of the sacred datura (Datura wrightii) can be seen blooming in the summer months throughout the well-drained open soils of the park. The datura is one of many night-blooming flowers in Zion, with petals that slowly unfurl at twilight. This beautiful flower should be viewed but not handled, as all parts of this plant are poisonous.
