Who knew club mascots could show any emotion other than joy. Well this one certainly personified utter dejection. Brentford beating Leeds United at Elland Road, beating them home and away for the first time in our history and a glorious sunset to boot. What more could a long-suffering Bees fan ask for? Well we could start with not sacking our most successful manager of the last half-century, though he is staying to the end of the season. We knew it was too good to last. Leeds's Lion mascot did not take defeat at home in his stride, looked more like a trudge to me. One of my favourite away trips ever. Update 04/08/20 This evening we hope to join Leeds United in the Premiership. One more win will do it. I will let you know how we got on. We failed in the play-offs once again but... Update 27/05/21 At the tenth time of asking we finally won a play-off final and got promoted to the Premiership where we will meet Leeds United once again. |
