In 1902 the Pacific Packing & Navigation Co. took over operation of the wooden square-rigged ship ST. PAUL for hauling salmon between Alaska and San Francisco. In 1908 the ST. PAUL was incorporated into the newly-enlarged Alaska Steamship Co. By 1914 the ship was being used by the Northwestern Fisheries Co. She was retired in 1925. (Source: Newell, Gordon, ed. "The H.W.
