CAMP PENDLETON (Sept. 6, 2015) Construction Mechanic 1st Class Duane Husted (left) and Construction Mechanic 3rd Class Javier Sorto, both assigned to Beach Master Unit One, signal to a Japanese landing craft air cushion (LCAC) from the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force ship JS Kunisaki (LST 4003), during an amphibious landing for exercise Dawn Blitz 2015. Dawn Blitz 2015 is a scenario-driven exercise designed to train the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps in operations expected of an amphibious task force while also building U.S. and coalition operational interoperability. The exercise will test staffs in the planning and execution of amphibious operations in a series of live training events at sea and ashore.
