CARIBBEAN SEA (Sept. 22, 2017) Sailors prepare the hangar bay of the amphibious assault ship USS Wasp (LHD 1) for U.S. citizen evacuees from the island Dominica in the wake of Hurricane Maria. The Department of Defense is supporting U.S. Agency of International Development (USAID) in helping those affected by Hurricane Maria to minimize suffering and is one component of the overall whole-of-government response effort.
