Description
English: The statue was mounted on the Frolvskaya (Spasskaya) Tower of the Moscow Kremlin. The most part of the sculpture was lost and now only the torso is all that remains of the figure.
Russian researchers of 20th century (Nikolay Sobolev, Aleksey Nekrasov, Mikhail Alpatov et al.) believed that the statue was sculpted by Vasili Yermolin; nowadays the version that Yermolin was only the purchaser but not the author of the sculpture is widespread. Probably, the statue was created by masters from Italy.
