Description
日本語: サイシャツト族(大隘社)蕃人。サイシャツト族は新竹州の山地向天湖山、五指山方面に住み，人口千二百月數二百四十位，七蕃族中最も少數で或場合にはタイヤル族の中に入れられる事もある。風貎はタイャル族に近く，服裝も亦似にて居る。しかしこの蕃族は早くから漢民族との接觸が多く，服裝にもこの影響が表れて居る。即ち褌のやうなのも往時はタイヤル族のやうに黑布を腰にひ，前方に両端を垂れたが今は本島人と同一のものを用ひて居る。又性情もタイヤル、ブヌン等より遙かに蠻性を脱却し，溫順である點はタイヤルに似て居るが女子の顔面の黥，又胸部に黥する習俗等異つて居る。（宮本延人）
