| Description |
The Salon de Mars is a room of the Palace of Versailles , a castle French located in the Yvelines , in Île-de-France . Part Large apartment of the King , this room decorated on the theme of March , god of Roman mythology , served room guard time of Louis XIV . The March show, which follows the salons of Venus and Diana, acted as guard room. It marked the real entrance to the king's apartment, giving access to the Mercury Salon . During the evenings apartment established by Louis XIV, the March show is first devoted to the game. It had several tables for card games and other games of chance. 1685, King pierced both walls on either side of the fireplace in order to develop two platforms supported by columns, designed for musicians.
