Description
English: Samuel Rutherford's Grave, St Andrews Cathedral
After losing his charge as minister at Anwoth in Galloway, due to his nonconformity to Episcopacy, Samuel Rutherford was banished to Aberdeen. In 1638 he became the Professor of Divinity at St Andrews University. The inscription reads (note unusual spelling of Samuel Rutherford):
