Description Coit Tower and Telegraph Hill, seen from Lombard Street at the top of Russian Hill. A car is beginning the zig-zag descent of the most famous block of Lombard Street. Coit Tower has been a San Francisco landmark since it was built in 1933, at the top of Telegrapn Hill. It is 210 ft (64 m) high. Telegraph Hill itself has an elevation of 275 ft (83 m). The San Francisco-Oakland Bay Bridge is in the background, along with Yerba Buena Island (left) and Treasure Island (far left).
