The Visitations of the County of Devon: Comprising the Heralds' Visitations of 1531, 1564 & 1620, Exeter, 1895, p.336; Pevsner, Nikolaus & Cherry, Bridget, The Buildings of England: Devon, London, 2004, pp.191-2). He married Alice Bray, daughter of .... Bray of Northamptonshire, who survived him and married secondly to Elizeus Hele (d.1636) of Parke (now HQ of Dartmoor National Park) in the parish of Bovey Tracey, whose monument (displaying the arms of Bray) survives in the church of St Peter, St Paul and St Thomas of Canterbury, Bovey Tracey, Devon. |
