Description Thin section of the Weverton quartzite/sandstone (Cambrian of Maryland, USA), cross polarized light. All crystals are of the mineral quartz. The original rounded shape of the detrital grains is preserved in fluid inclusion patterns. A homoaxial cement of quartz grew into the pores untill the whol rock was cemented.
