Deutsch: Blick von Westen über die spätrömische Sangariusbrücke (Türkei) in einer Zeichnung von 1838. Das knapp 430 m lange Bauwerk wurde ca. 559–562 vom römischen Kaiser Justinian anstelle einer älteren Schiffsbrücke errichtet. Der Triumphbogen im Vordergrund ist heute verschwunden.
English: View from the west across the late Roman Sangarius Bridge, Turkey, according to a drawing from 1838. The just under 430 m long structure was constructed between ca. 559–562 by the Roman emperor Justinian at the site of a pontoon bridge. The triumphal arch in the foreground has disappeared today. |
