English: Savoia-Marchetti S.56 in the Cradle of Aviation Museum.

The Savoia-Marchetti S.56 was an Italian single-engine biplane flying boat trainer and tourer, built by Savoia-Marchetti.

The S.56A proved popular in the U.S., and the American Aeronautical Corporation set up licence production in 1929, relying on the 67 kW (90 hp) Kinner K5 radials for power for three two-place aircraft and over 40 three-seaters.

Like many other designs of the period, the S-56 succumbed to the Depression. Of the 36 built, this is one of two surviving examples.
Nederlands: Savoia-Marchetti S.56 in the Cradle of Aviation Museum. Het toestel werd in licentie in de Verenigde Staten gebouwd door American Aeronautical Corporation. Er werden er , vanwege de Grote Depressie, slechts 36 gebouwd. Dit is één van de twee overlevende exemplaren.
