Italiano: la scatola ha forma ovale con coperchio in legno. Il coperchio è profilato da un listello sporgente che si ripete alla base, con chiara funzione non solo decorativa.
Funzione

Vaso usato in farmacia per contenere un principio attivo, un essenza o altro. La dicitura sul corpo del vaso indica il nome del contenuto essiccato: "Radix Arundinis Donacy".

Notizie storico-critiche
Questo tipo di contenitori in cui venivano conservate le erbe medicinali essiccate, prima dell'impiego apotecario vero e proprio, sono presenti in numerosi corredi farmaceutici dei secoli XVII e XVIII, in genere pervenuteci in buono stato di conservazione. Si veda in proposito Pedrazzini,1934, p 144 La piccola etichetta (strappata) in carta che reca scritto il n° 8?, potrebbe riferirsi al preparato o alla ricetta farmaceutica per la preparazione delle specialità mediche più comuni Il decoro a tempera sembra suggerire la presenza di una cornice più larga.
