Summary

edit
Description This small atomic shelter has a special history. It was in the 1950s a construction tunnel for an underground transport system. Here, excavated material was transported to the outside. After completion, the access to the transport system was bricked up and the tunnel closed at the front with a door. At the beginning of the 80s, when a new secret facility was finished on the Gotthard, this tunnel was converted into a small atomic shelter. For the troops who should protect the approaches to the new facility. There are more such shelters further down in the valley. Switzerland, June 4, 2019. (1/4)
