Description
Deutsch: Die Kirche St. Nikolai wird erstmals im 13. Jahrhundert erwähnt. 1705 wird der Vorgängerbau abgebrochen und drei Jahre später der Grundstein zur Backsteinbarockkirche gelegt. Der Zentralbau ist auf einem griechischen Kreuz errichtet. 1713 wird St. Nikolai eingeweiht und dient bis 1813 auch als Grablage der herzoglichen Familie. In den Jahren 1856/58 wird der Innenraum neu gestaltet und erhält seine neugotische Prägung. Unterhalb der Orgel liegt die Fürstenloge dem Altar gegenüber und ist über den Turm erreichbar. Die seitlichen Emporen der Stadt- und Garnisonskirche blieben dem Militär vorbehalten.
