Summary edit
DescriptionSchifflange Portico, Luxembourg, May 1995 (5001982571).jpg |
The inscription reads 'Mir wölle bleiwe, wat mer sin' which is the national motto of Luxembourg, which translates as we wish to remain how we are (in Luxembourgish) - a low tax economy, I suspect. The industrial scenes recall the Metz steelworks established here in 1871,becoming part of ARBED in 1911, and eventually becoming part of ArcelorMittal. The D of ARBED stood for Dudelange , viz. Aciéries Réunies de Burbach-Eich-Dudelange Luxembourg |
