Deutsch: Nikolaikirche Potsdam Schrifttafelengel 4
The sandstone tablet with the four standing, almost fully sculptural angels flanking the fonts was created by the Berlin sculptor Ludwig Wichmann in 1835. Examinations of color fragments of the tablet show 6 oil-bound versions of different colors, each with a darker accentuation of the writing, so that in the past this was was easy to read at the distance. The current version reconstruction documents the 2nd version from 1850. Diagnostic examinations and color concept Dipl.- Restorer Gottfried Grafe |
